SILVERPOINT AND GRAPHITE DRAWINGS

My work is rooted in careful observation and reverence for what endures. Trained in archaeological illustration - drawing maps, structures, pottery, stone and bone fragments - I learned to let a line carry both information and feeling.

I work primarily in silverpoint and graphite, mediums that demand patience. Silverpoint was the choice of Leonardo and Durer: a fine silver wire on prepared paper that begins pale and deepens to a warm, permanent gray. It cannot be erased. Every mark is a commitment.

My Temples series, including the Celsus Library at Ephesus, explores how ancient architecture holds memory. I am drawn to worn carvings, to light falling across a facade, to a single sculpted figure that has watched centuries pass. These are not ruins to me, but continuities.

My Endangered Species series extends that same attention to living forms that may not endure without our care. Through precise graphite and silver, I try to give each subject a quiet dignity - to make a viewer pause.
